Green Thumbs, Bright Futures: Launching a Veterans’ Hydroponic Garden in Las Vegas

Community Articles, Entrepreneurship and Startups

by

With Earth Day 2024 on the horizon, the Las Vegas TMC platoon is planting the seeds of change with a groundbreaking initiative. Our mission? To construct a hydroponic garden at the esteemed U.S. VETS – Las Vegas facility.

U.S. Vets is unwavering in its commitment to helping local veterans conquer homelessness by providing invaluable programs and housing support. As a proud member of the U.S. Vets Las Vegas Community Advisory Council, it’s an honor to contribute to the expansion of their impactful work within our community.

This hydroponic garden isn’t just about growing greens; it’s about cultivating hope and new skills. We’re channeling this venture into a training ground for veterans, where they can learn hydroponic gardening—a stepping stone to self-sufficiency and possibly, a future in entrepreneurship. Imagine a “Veterans Farmers Market” as a vibrant reality, where produce cultivated by our vets is shared with the local community.

Collaboration is at the heart of this project, and we’re thrilled to partner with a coalition of community organizations including Merging Vets and Players, Veterans Upward Bound, the Charlie-Mike Foundation, VFW Post 12198, Concerned Veterans for America Foundation, the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, and the Southern Nevada Veterans Chamber of Commerce.

Are you feeling the pull to be part of something transformative? If your business or organization is looking to make a tangible impact, join the TMC Vegas platoon in this endeavor. Let’s connect and grow together.

Don’t miss out on the good vibes—get involved and register for the project. Together, we’re not just nurturing plants; we’re nurturing futures.
