As March winds to a close, it’s hard to believe we’re already gearing up for the upcoming third Wednesday of the month. Time flies, but it’s flights we welcome, especially when they bring us together for Veteran Coffee Connections.

This month, we’re brewing up something special. Jeff Detrick, MPA, and the esteemed Director of Veterans Upward Bound, introduced me to a cozy café just a short walk from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. PappaRoti US is not just any café – it’s a place where the aroma of freshly baked buns and the robust flavor of Turkish coffee create a perfect blend of tastes and tales.

And who better to operate such an establishment than two of our own – veterans of the United States Air Force. Their dedication, now turned from serving the country to serving delicious pastries and beverages, is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit thriving within our veteran community.

With ample space and an ambiance brimming with good vibes, PappaRoti US is more than just a café; it’s a haven for connections. That’s why I’m thrilled to announce that every third Veteran Coffee event will now call this veteran-friendly cafe home. Roughly every month and a half, we at the Southern Nevada Veterans Chamber of Commerce will proudly stand amidst the swirl of coffee scents, supporting not just a veteran-owned business but also the bonds that make us stronger.

We’re more than excited – we’re honored to have PappaRoti US host us. So, mark your calendars, register for the event, and let’s make each sip count as we cherish the company of fellow veterans and community members. Here’s to good coffee, great pastries, and even better company.

We’ll see you there!
