For 2025 Las Vegas Platoon 9/11 campaign, we are excited to partner with CCSD Middle School, KO Knudsen Academy of the Arts, to work together to create a rejuvenated environment for our youth and future artists, musicians, and performers to grow and learn! We will be bringing a great friend and community favorite, USMC Veteran and gardening guru, Matt Nelson to share guidance on improving quality of irrigation systems and soil quality for the student garden at KO Knudsen. We will also be gathering materials and willing volunteers to construct benches and tables for our student to better learn concepts in outdoor gardening at KO Knudsen. In addition, we will be bringing volunteers together to help bring to new life the KO Knudsen training theater room, so our young performers can have the setting they want and need to grow and flourish! Several events honoring America’s veterans are scheduled for Nov. 11 in and around Washington, D.C. Here’s a look at some key Veterans Day events and how to participate. At 9 a.m., a ceremony at the National World War II Memorial will honor the more than 16 million men and women who served during World War II. Hosted by the Friends of the National World War II Memorial, the event will feature World War II veterans who will place wreaths at the memorial’s Freedom Wall in remembrance of the more than 400,000 Americans and 60 million people killed worldwide during the deadliest military conflict in human history.
