Company Bio Growing up as a U.S. Navy kid in San Diego, CA, Lester was able to witness firsthand the opportunities that the U.S. military provided for his family. The oldest son of a retired US Navy Master Chief, Lester saw how his dad was able to complete a successful military career, developing from a young sailor with a young family to a as a senior enlisted leader after entering the US Navy from Subic Bay Naval Station in Luzon Island, Philippines; and he used that 24-year career opportunity to create a better quality of life for himself and his family in a different country. Lester watched his dad retire from active duty in 1997, which heavily influenced his decision to enlist into the military a year later. Entering the US Air Force in 1998, Lester followed in his dad's footsteps and served in active duty as an electronic warfare systems specialist, working on the B-1B Lancer at the flightline level, then eventually finishing service by working as a systems specialist at the National Air & Space Intelligence Center at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio. After completing active duty, he then went to work for the Department of Defense in Washington DC as a Sr. Systems Engineer contractor, after completion of his military service. Lester's wife, also a USAF veteran, was able to successfully earn a medical degree in Family Medicine through her studies with the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, Maryland after admission into medical school at their joint service medical university and commissioning with the US Air Force. She then served as a family medicine doctor for the Air Force for 7 years between overseas locations in Japan and England, then eventually at Nellis AFB in North Las Vegas. She now works as a private physician in the local community. Aside from the long list of career and personal opportunities that military service has given to Lester's family, the instilled values that have been learned from a life in military culture has been one of the most important takeaways to Lester 's family in the areas of daily life. Personal sacrifice, service to others , and upholding a strong standard for himself and his family. As founder of the Southern Nevada Veterans Chamber of Commerce, Lester sees the development of a veterans resource like the SNVCC as an opportunity to give something back to the veteran community for every positive opportunity that his family had been given, from when he was growing up a child until arriving in the Las Vegas community in 2017.
